RIVERSIDE — A 31-year-old registered sex offender suspected of human trafficking and sexually exploiting a girl has been taken into custody, the Riverside Police Department announced Monday.
Vice Unit detectives began an immediate investigation following reports in mid-August that a girl was being advertised online for commercial sex, police said.
The victim was believed to have engaged in prostitution in Riverside and Los Angeles counties, as well as in Arizona, police said.
The investigation spanned several months, during which time vice detectives followed leads that ultimately identified Deidrick Dayvon Bradford as the suspect.
Bradford was located in Phoenix where he was taken into custody on Oct. 14 by detectives with the assistance of METRO Team investigators and U.S. Marshals Service personnel.
He was booked on suspicion of possession of child pornography, pimping, and human trafficking of a minor. Police said that Bradford has since been extradited to Riverside County, where he was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on Oct. 24 and held in lieu of $85,000 bail.
Anyone with information about the case was urged to contact the Vice Unit at RPDVice@RiversideCA.gov or by phone at 951-353-7614. Tipsters who wish to remain anonymous can submit information through the RPD “Atlas 1” mobile app using the secure “Send a Message” feature.
