After he was caught allegedly filming a woman in the bathroom of an East Citrus Avenue business, a 19-year-old Redlands man was arrested on suspicion of invasion of privacy, according to the Redlands Police Department.
The woman saw the suspect, Demarcus Seth Stone, 19, recording her with his cell phone in the bathroom in the afternoon on Wednesday, Oct. 15, police said. Her husband found Stone hiding in the men’s bathroom, called police and confronted Stone. When police arrived, Stone ran away, but was caught after a short foot pursuit. He gave police his cellphone passcode and investigators discovered more videos of women in different local restrooms, Redlands Police said Monday.
There is currently no information to suggest the videos were posted anywhere, Redlands Police Department public information officer Carl Baker said. A search warrant was sought so authorities can do additional forensics on the cell phone. Police are seeking to identify any additional victims. Stone was cited and released, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department records.
Two days later, on Oct. 17, Stone was arrested by Redlands Police on suspicion of possession of child pornography. Investigators found images of child sexual abuse material on his phone during a follow up investigation to his previous arrest on Oct. 15, according to police. He was found at his home and arrested. He was released on bail, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department records show.
