The Hawk Fire in Acton was 76% contained Saturday afternoon after burning 481 acres, a fire official said.
The fire was reported shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday in the 35900 block of North Trenmar Drive, south of Ritter Ranch Park, in an area north of the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The fire’s progress was stopped later that night at 481 acres of vegetation, according to Capt. David Dantic. Crews will spend most of Saturday doing mop-up work, Dantic told City News Service.
Some structures were threatened as the flames spread through medium brush. The department issued a third alarm, summoning additional air and ground resources to the scene.
One neighborhood was placed under an evacuation order, and others were given evacuation warnings.
A shelter-in-place order was issued for the area near Shannon Valley Road and Via Famero Drive.
Two evacuation warnings were in effect at 8 p.m. Thursday, with the orders later downgraded or canceled, the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported.
A firefighter suffered a minor injury Thursday, the department reported.
The cause of the fire was not known.
