Funeral services for slain San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Andrew Nunez will be held at the Toyota Arena in Ontario on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 11 a.m. and will be limited to family, friends and invited law enforcement personnel, according to authorities.
The funeral procession will enter the southbound 215 Freeway at Inland Center Drive at around 8:30 a.m. and will then merge onto the westbound 10 Freeway. It will exit at Haven Avenue and continue north on to Concours Street, then east on Concours Street to the Toyota Arena located at 4000 Ontario Center Parkway, Ontario.
Members of the public will also be able to watch the livestreamed service on the sheriff department’s YouTube channel.
Deputy Nunez was fatally shot in the head after responding to a domestic violence call regarding a man with a gun in Rancho Cucamonga on Oct. 27 shortly after 12:30 p.m.
After the suspect shot at the group of deputies, the suspect jumped on his motorcycle and took deputies on a highspeed pursuit that ended when he crashed near the Campus Avenue exit of the eastbound 210 just after 1:30 p.m.
Authorities later identified the suspect as 47-year-old Angelo Jose Saldivar of San Bernardino, who has since been charged with murdering Deputy Nunez.
