A 6-year-old boy is recovering Friday from wounds to his head, back and legs that he suffered in a coyote attack, which was recorded on video, while attending his sister’s softball game in Carson.
The boy’s mother told reporters a tragedy was narrowly averted on Monday evening in Del Amo Park.
“I was just hysterical,” Enoch Palomar’s mother Melissa told KTLA.
@planelord Viewer Discretion A kid was attacked by coyote on our daughter’s softball game here in Carson, Ca for the dodger dreamteam games. Caught by our camera but we couldn’t tell with our naked eye what’s happening behind the fence yet we heard the screaming of the little kid. And it’s right behind the ball park by the kids playground out of nowhere the coyote strike. @KTLA5NEWS @cbsnews @ABC7LA #report #coyote #strike #poorbaby #softball

The downed boy’s screams as the coyote bit him drew the attention of the child’s mother as well as someone who recorded the attack from a distance.
“It just kept biting me, and I was trying to kick it,” Enoch Palomar said. “It was too fast, and it just jumped. I was trying my hardest, and then it didn’t work, and then I yelled.”
The coyote ran off when people came to rescue the boy, who needed 20 stitches to close his wounds and rabies treatments in case the animal was a carrier.
