By ERIC TUCKER and CHRIS MEGERIAN WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump rehashed longstanding grievances over the Russia investigation that shadowed much of his first term, lashing out Tuesday following a new report from his intelligence director aimed at casting doubt on long-established findings about Moscow’s interference in the 2016 election. “It’s time to go after people,” Trump said from the Oval Office as he repeated a baseless claim that former President Barack Obama and other officials had engaged in treason. Trump was not making his claims for the first time, but he delivered them when administration officials are harnessing…

LOS ANGELES — Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is dealing with some soreness in his back, head coach Sean McVay said Tuesday as players reported to training camp at Loyola Marymount, with the expectation being that the quarterback will be limited for the first four days of practice. Stafford plans on working on the sidelines during the first block of training camp practices, before presumptively returning to full participation during Monday’s practice. McVay added that the Rams expect Stafford to be ready for Week 1. “He’s been throwing, feeling good. It’s not anything that’s necessarily new, something that he’s dealt with…

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday, July 22, to adopt new fire zones that leave out at least half of Altadena neighborhoods demolished in the Jan. 7 Eaton fire. That means an estimated 60% of residents who lost their homes in January’s firestorms won’t be required to rebuild to the highest fire-safety standards contained in California’s building code. Those homeowners also won’t be required to undergo annual brush inspections or, if necessary, clear their property of flammable debris. None of the four supervisors at Tuesday’s meeting addressed a South Carolina insurance research institute’s recommendation that fire zones…

Human remains discovered in the Eaton fire’s path in Altadena have increased the death toll from the Jan. 7 wildfire to 19, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner said on Tuesday, July 22. “The death toll related to the (two) wildfires is now 31 — 19 in the Eaton fire and 12 in the Palisades (fire),” according to a dispatch from the Medical Examiner’s office. That office reported the remains were found on Monday, July 21, in the 10 block of La Venezia Court and were examined by a six-member Special Operations Response Team. 6 months later: What…

By MARTHA BELLISLE, CEDAR ATTANASIO and COLLEEN SLEVIN, Associated Press SEATTLE (AP) — After a Seattle immigration judge dismissed the deportation case against a Colombian man — exposing him to expedited removal — three people sat with him in the back of the courtroom, taking his car keys for safe-keeping, helping him memorize phone numbers and gathering the names of family members who needed to be notified. When Judge Brett Parchert asked why they were doing that in court, the volunteers said Immigration and Custom Enforcement officers were outside the door, waiting to take the man into custody, so this…

LOS ANGELES — As the Rams prepared to open training camp on Wednesday, they had good and bad news along the offensive line to report on Tuesday. First, the good. Right tackle Rob Havenstein said he is cleared to be a full participant in practices. The 11th-year tackle missed OTAs following cleanout procedures on both his shoulders, but he said Tuesday he’s hit his goals for strength training, clearing his way to return to the field. “Feel good, strong, healthy,” Havenstein said. “Feel ready to go play football.” As for the bad, left tackle Alaric Jackson is still dealing with…

Another change at In-N-Out has everybody talking. And no, it’s not a minor tweak to its mostly unwavering menu. It’s Lynsi Snyder, the sole owner of the popular hamburger chain, who told a podcaster she’s moving her family to Tennessee from California. This California-centric food empire is undergoing a vast expansion to the East. It’s understandable that the boss wants to be close to the center of that evolution. The 77-year-old, family-owned chain will establish twin operational bases. It’s relocating the western HQ from Irvine to where it started in Baldwin Park and creating an eastern hub in Tennessee. But…

Bringing Chris Paul back to the Clippers offers a warm and fuzzy feel to the team’s final offseason move. But signing the 12-time All-Star to a one-year deal is more than a nod to nostalgia. He can still play at 40 years old and wants the chance to win a title in his 21st and likely final season. “I think one of the things that Chris talked about in terms of coming here is obviously the ability to be at home and be with his wife and kids, but also how committed Steve (Ballmer, owner) is since he has owned the…

President of In-N-Out Lynsi Snyder announced she will also relocate to Tennessee, along with the consolidation of In-N-Out from Irvine to Baldwin Park and expansion of its eastern headquarters outside Nashville. Snyder cited difficulty doing business and raising a family in California. This follows the exodus of Californians moving out-of-state, and is the result of decades of failure from Sacramento, especially since and because of the state’s coronavirus lockdowns. Here is what In-N-Out reveals about California’s past, present, and future. In-N-Out was founded in Baldwin Park in 1948 by Henry Snyder. It is still family owned and run by granddaughter…

In-N-Out remains commited to California as it embarks on a major expansion in Tennessee, according to Lynsi Snyder, owner and president. “We’re not moving In-N-Out’s headquarters,” she said in a three-minute audio message on Instagram and Facebook, referring to the chain’s offices in Baldwin Park, where it was founded in 1948. The audio was uploaded on Monday, three days after a podcast aired in which Snyder said her family plans to move to Tennessee. Synder’s comments were picked up by news media and stories published over the weekend created a backlash from some customers. Some social media users have called…
