USC receiver Ja’Kobi Lane has announced that he is forgoing his senior season and declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft.
“To the University of Southern California, this will always be home,” Lane wrote in a social media post. “Since a young age, I’ve dreamed of playing here, and the opportunities that I’ve encountered here will take me further than football ever will. The love from the fans, alumni and staff has been nothing short of a blessing that I will appreciate for the rest of my life.”
Ja’Kobi Lane, a 6-foot-4 receiver, lined up on the outside to create size mismatches with opposing defenders, while his teammate, Makai Lemon primarily played slot receiver.
Lane had three games of 100 receiving yards or more and altogether made 49 catches for 745 yards and four touchdowns this season.
He is the third player to declare for the NFL Draft, following tight end Lake McRee and defensive back Kamari Ramsey, who is projected to be an early second-round draft pick by experts.
Ramsey, a Sierra Canyon School product, had 27 total tackles this year with 1.5 tackles for loss and two pass breakups. McRee was the Trojans’ leading tight end with 40 receptions for 450 yards and four touchdowns.
