
Brian Carrell ran for 119 yards on only three carries and scored twice as the Arroyo Valley football team remained unbeaten with a 40-14 nonleague victory over Pomona on Thursday night.
Arroyo Valley is 5-0 for the first time since the 2002 season.
Evan Hunter rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown, and Eddie Pimentel tossed two touchdown passes for Arroyo Valley.
The Hawks open Skyline League play Friday night at Bloomington.

Chaffey 38, Moreno Valley 30: Alexis Almeida ran for 146 yards on 20 carries and scored twice as the Tigers ran to a nonleague victory. Chaffey (3-3) finished the game with 417 yards on the ground. Justin Alcantara added 136 yards and a touchdown, while Carlos Vasquez finished with 87 yards and two scores. Syree Matthews led the way for Moreno Valley (4-1), rushing for 219 yards and four touchdowns.
Elsinore 50, Diamond Ranch 6: Kai Tamagpong rushed for 190 yards on eight carries and scored three touchdowns as the Tigers won a nonleague game. Brayden Stankus tossed three touchdowns, while Ledgend Johnson had two touchdown catches for the Tigers (5-1).

Vista Murrieta 38, El Camino 12: Bryson Beaver passed for 220 yards and two touchdowns and added a score on the ground as the Broncos won a nonleague game. Aiden Williams ran for 89 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns for Vista Murrieta (5-0).
Rancho Verde 26, Tahquitz 0: Jimmy Cruz ran for 128 yards and two touchdowns as the Mustangs won a nonleague game. George Campbell added 90 yards and a touchdown on the ground for Rancho Verde (1-4).
Alta Loma 20, Silverado 6: Maximus Fierro threw two touchdown passes to Bryant Avila as the Lions won a nonleague game. Izaih Brown led the ground attack for Alta Loma (4-1) with 100 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.
Vista del Lago 41, Granite Hills 21: Josiah Dupree-Boyd passed for 278 yards and four touchdowns as the Ravens won a nonleague game. Noah Fuller caught two touchdowns passes, and EJ Mayhand-Souvenier added two touchdowns on the ground for Vista del Lago (4-1).
Valley View 21, Coachella Valley 18: Jesse Vega passed for 254 yards and three touchdowns and added 99 yards on the ground in leading the Eagles to a nonleague win. Damien Randin caught five passes for 80 yards and two touchdowns for Valley View (2-3).
West Valley 47, Indio 0: Dai Zjun Medlock ran for three touchdowns as the Mustangs won a nonleague game. Ivan Zeno returned punt for a touchdown to start the scoring for West Valley (2-4).
California School for the Deaf-Riverside 62, United Christian Academy 20: Gio Visco tossed three touchdown passes, ran for one score and also returned two interceptions for touchdowns as the Cubs won a nonleague game. Matthew Silvay scored twice for CSDR (3-1).
