Larenz Lamaar Fondren, 19, of Highland died after being hit by multiple cars in Colton while crossing a street on Friday morning, authorities said Saturday.
Antonio Dominguez Medrano, 30, of Colton, driver of one of the cars, was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter while driving under the influence, Colton Police said in a news release.
Just before 7 a.m. on Friday, Colton Police officers received reports of a traffic collision in the 1700 block of East Washington Street, at Center Drive, involving a pedestrian victim, according to a news release. Upon arrival, police found Fondren, who died after being hit by several cars.
Police said initial factors led them to believe that speed and signs of impairment were involved in the collision. Medrano was the driver of the initial vehicle that struck the man, police said. His bail was set at $100,000.
