BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Three people were arrested after KCSO executed several search warrants in Bakersfield and allegedly found narcotics, including 44,000 fentanyl-laced pills, marijuana, guns, and more.
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office said on March 3, 2025, KCSO, Kern County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force (KC-HIDTA) concluded a lengthy narcotics investigation with the execution of search warrants at two homes in the Bakersfield area.
KCSO said the investigation resulted in the seizure of over 44,000 fentanyl-laced (M-30) pills, a pound of black tar heroin, cocaine, processed marijuana, several hundred live marijuana plants and the dismantlement of a residential indoor marijuana grow.
During the investigation, search warrants were obtained for an apartment in the 3000 block of O Street and a residential home in the 300 block of 8th Street, Bakersfield. 26-year-old Alexander Horton and 24-year-old Alina Villarreal, both of Bakersfield, were found at their apartment. KCSO said they were allegedly found in possession of fentanyl, heroin, cocaine and a loaded stolen gun.
29-year-old Fidel Melgar-Trujillo, of Sinaloa, Mexico, was found at his home inside the active indoor marijuana grow as well as found in possession of large amounts of fentanyl pills, heroin, processed marijuana, marijuana plants, money believed to be narcotics sales proceeds and a loaded handgun.
Officers from the Kern County Probation Department and California Highway Patrol (K-9 Unit) assisted the KC-HIDTA Task Force in the investigation/execution of the search warrants.
Alexander Horton and Alina Villarreal were booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Lerdo Justice Facility for possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl, heroin, cocaine), possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of sales, maintaining a residence for drug sales, possession of a loaded firearm while in possession of a controlled substance, possession of a stolen handgun and conspiracy to commit a crime.
Fidel Melgar-Trujillo was booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Lerdo Justice Facility for possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl and heroin), possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of sales, possession and cultivation of marijuana, maintaining a residence for drug sales, and possession of a loaded firearm while in possession of a controlled substance.
