Two Murrieta schools that were closed Monday, Sept. 15, after a water main break are set to reopen Tuesday morning, Sept. 16.
A final test on the repair is set to take place between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Monday night, Sept. 15.
The Murrieta Valley Unified School District will send a confirmation to affected families once it is complete.

Thompson Middle School, 24040 Hayes Ave., and nearby Murrieta Canyon Academy were closed Monday, the district said in a weekend message to families.
Students were encouraged to check Canvas, a cloud-based learning platform, by the end of Monday to review their assignments, district spokesperson Monica Gutierrez said.
The district will communicate with families through email, text message and a phone call when water is restored and the campus’ daily operations can resume, Gutierrez said in a Monday email.
Emergency crews have been working to repair the water main, and contractors estimated water would be restored by the end of Monday, the district said.
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may cause,” district officials said. “Water is a critical resource for school operations, and our top priority is the safety of students and staff as well as ensuring that our schools have the resources they need to operate.”
This is the first time the school district has had to cancel classes at Thompson Middle School because of a water main break, Gutierrez wrote.
The break is 10 to 12 feet below the ground and is on school district property, making repairs the responsibility of Murrieta Valley Unified, she said.
